Savannah, Strategy & Canva: Kicking Off 2026 the GOAT Way

2026 is already bringing powerful momentum for GOAT Social Media, and we’re just getting started. Recently, our Founder & Director, Kassie Meiler, headed to Savannah for the first official #GOATSocialMedia trip of the year, joining as a guest speaker for two sessions focused on social media strategy and Canva mastery.

Savannah, with its rich history, Southern charm, and picture-perfect weather, was the ideal backdrop for meaningful conversations, creative energy, and hands-on learning. There’s something about stepping outside your day-to-day environment that sparks bigger ideas — and this trip did exactly that.

Two Sessions. One Mission: Smarter, More Strategic Content.

Kassie led two presentations designed to help marketers, business owners, and in-house teams elevate their content approach in 2026.

Session One: Canva Hacks That Elevate Your Brand

This wasn’t a basic Canva tutorial. This session focused on working smarter within the platform and on building scalable visual systems.

Some of the most impactful takeaways included:

  • Build a Brand Kit — and Actually Use It

    • Consistent fonts, colors, and logo placement aren’t optional. They build recognition and credibility. Canva’s Brand Kit ensures every piece of content feels cohesive, especially across teams.

  • Stop Overusing Templates

    • Templates are a starting point, not a finished product. Adjust hierarchy, spacing, typography, and layout to make designs feel custom and elevated.

  • Design Once, Duplicate Strategically

    • Instead of creating one-off graphics:

      • Build carousel frameworks

      • Create reel cover templates

      • Develop repeatable quote layouts

      • Establish story design systems

  • Use White Space Intentionally

    • Clean design converts better. More elements do not mean more impact.

  • Leverage AI Tools — With Strategy

    • Magic Resize, background remover, bulk creation tools, and AI-assisted copy can speed production — but strategy should always lead.

Session Two: Canva, Video & Strategic Social Media

The second session went deeper. It connected design execution to overall marketing performance.

The focus? Making sure your visuals support your strategy.

  • Content Must Ladder Up to Business Goals

    • If your posts don’t connect to awareness, authority, or revenue — they’re just noise. We broke down how to create 3–5 strong content pillars that drive measurable results.

  • Platform-First Thinking

    • An Instagram carousel is not a LinkedIn graphic. A reel is not a story. Dimensions, pacing, hook strategy, and text hierarchy should match how users consume content on each platform.

  • Video Is No Longer Optional

    • Short-form video continues to dominate reach and engagement. We discussed:

      • Hook-first scripting

      • Batch filming for efficiency

      • Turning one video into multiple pieces of content

      • Creating branded reel covers in Canva to maintain feed cohesion

    • Repurpose Smarter

      • One workshop, blog, podcast, or keynote can become:

        • Reels

        • Carousels

        • Email content

        • LinkedIn thought leadership

        • Quote graphics

        • Story sequences

Why Speaking Matters to Us

At GOAT Social Media, we don’t just manage content, we teach it, refine it, and build systems around it.

Speaking engagements like this allow us to:

  • Share real-world client insights

  • Test evolving strategies

  • Connect with marketers across industries

  • Continue learning ourselves

Education is a two-way street. The post-session conversations were just as valuable as the presentations themselves.

Looking Ahead to the Rest of 2026

If this first trip is any indication, 2026 is going to be a year of growth, expansion, and elevated strategy.

We’re incredibly grateful for the opportunity to pour into other marketers and business owners, and excited for what’s ahead for our clients, our team, and the GOAT community.

Savannah set the tone. Now we build.
