New Feature Alert: Twitter's Branded Likes

You may have noticed a few tweets about branded likes if you've been on Twitter recently. You read that correctly; this new feature will allow you to create a custom-made like button!

Twitter is introducing a new feature to more businesses for managed advertisers! Branded likes will appear in organic or promoted tweets containing specific hashtags. When a user likes a tweet, the animation tailored to that brand appears; this will allow the business to enable its content to become more interactive. This is an exciting option if you're looking for new ways to elevate your brand!

This feature is available only to managed advertisers in the United States, the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, and Japan. With Twitter expanding its creative canvas, the addition of branded likes allows them to drive business results and assists them in telling their stories. Not only are they scaling their platform to optimize everyone, but it is also an enjoyable way to get more people involved in your brand.

The Benefits of it All

Twitter has designed a creative way to maximize your launch in the most fun and engaging way. If you're

wondering what the benefits of this can do for your brand, it can:

  1. Amplify the conversation of your launch

  2. Bring awareness to your brand

  3. Increase your engagement

This feature will undoubtedly pique people's interest in your launch. As a result of this feature being built into Twitter's Takeover ad offering, your ad will be the first to appear when a user opens the app for the first time that day. For the animation to appear in your tweet, advertisers can select a hashtag for it.

How Does it Work?

According to Business Twitter: Branded Likes, here's a breakdown:

  1. Branded likes will be available as an add-on to their Timeline Takeover offering (an ad placement that ensures their ad will appear first when users open Twitter for the first time that day).

  2. Advertisers then select a hashtag (up to 10 translations) for their branded like.

  3. Any time a user taps the like button on either an organic or promoted tweet that contains the preselected hashtag, the animation will appear.

  4. It will appear in the same geographic area as the brand's Timeline Takeover for up to 24 hours.

Several brands across multiple industries, including Disney, Paramount Pictures, and more, have tested it to drive their conversion and engagement. Overall, it has generated a positive impact paired with Timeline Takeover; as a result, this feature delivers ad effectiveness for brands, and users' excitement from this feature alone has piqued interest. Even though this may not be ideal for a sales promotion, this is something to keep in mind for more big launches and releases.

This feature provides variety to your tweets, not to mention many people are excited! Twitter's platform is constantly evolving, and we love it!
